DESCRIPTION:Including a session hosted by our FOX partner Fraunhofer ISI\nLandscape 2021 will bring together scientists from across disciplines with key actors to explore whether and how diversity and diversification can contribute to a more sustainable and resilient agriculture. Promising approaches reduce trade-offs between high productivity and use of external resources\, the provisioning of ecosystem services\, biodiversity and soil health as well as robust economic perspectives\, social justice\, cultural values and recreational opportunities. We hypothesise that while diversification provides sustainable solutions at different scales\, it is the landscape or territoriales scale where synergies and trade-offs between social and environmental objectives become tangible. Conference contributions will include research from natural and social sciences\, inter- and transdisciplinary approaches on topics related to the diversification of crop and livestock production systems across scales.

DESCRIPTION:As we informed you earlier\, the XIIIth International Controlled and Modified Atmosphere Research Conference (CAMA) is postponed and will take place from August 15 to 18\, 2021. However\, given the standing uncertainties about vaccinations worldwide we have decided to organize CAMA2021 as a pure online event and cancel all physical activities in Leuven. While we regret having to take this decision we feel there is no other proper way to deal with it. \nWith the theme ‘Fast Forward to a Fresh Future’ we aim at creating a unique exchange forum for discussing recent progress in scientific knowledge and industrial development of controlled and modified atmosphere technology for fruit and vegetables.
