On the 14th of April 2023, a total of 21 participants joined for the presentation of a mobile prototype line for drying fruit and vegetable products using the innovative Pulsed Electric Field (PEF) technology. The event, organized within the frame of the European project FOX – Food processing in a bOX, took place in Czech Republic with the attendance of FOX partners Food Research Institute Prague, Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW, Cedrus technology, Elea GmbH, and Sady Tuchoraz s.r.o.
Workshop was done with aim to acquaint the expert public from among apple growers with the prototype of a mobile line for processing fruit and vegetables into dried slices – that was presented on the premises of Sady Tuchoraz s.r.o.
During the event, it was possible to install the equipment, connect it to the electrical network and start the verification operation, including the PEF high-voltage pulse treatment equipment.
During the verification operation, it was possible to dry a sufficient number of samples from both untreated and PEF-treated apples packed in plastic pouches.
After the lecture, which introduced the participants to the solution of the FOX project in general and specifically to the slice drying line, all participants followed the transfer to the Tuchoraz village of the headquarters of Sady Tuchoraz where a successful presentation of the line in operation took place.
